Where to find it (New Layout): Admissions › Fee Challans — Generate Challan, Installment Wise, Scheduled, Add Amount, Pay or Print and Challan Discounts are tabs along the top of the page. You only see the tabs your login may open; on the classic layout the menu still lists each screen.
Why your new school already has students
When you sign up your school yourself, EDUBase adds a small set of sample data so every screen has something to show while you look around:
- a second campus called City Campus;
- classes Nursery, Prep and One to Eight, each with sections A and B, in the current session;
- 24 sample students (no phone numbers, so no message can ever reach anyone);
- 8 sample admission queries under Admissions → Admission Queries (also without phone numbers);
- 4 sample staff members (no Teacher App login);
- one month of unpaid fee challans (Tuition Fee 3,000) for the sample students, so Pay or Print Fee Challans has something to show;
- a Sample Fee Plan with one head, Tuition Fee 3,000 a month, and the late-fee and challan settings for City Campus.
Keep it or remove the sample people
Your dashboard shows a banner: "This school has sample data so you can explore."
- Keep it — the banner goes away and the sample data stays. You can edit or delete any of it like your own data.
- Remove sample students & staff — EDUBase deletes the 24 sample students, the 8 sample admission queries and the 4 sample staff members, together with their sample challans and everything you did with them while trying the system: their fee challans and payments, attendance, results, family links, leave and salary sheets.
What stays
The sample campus, classes, sections, session and fee plan stay. They are settings, not people, and most schools need the same things: rename City Campus to your branch, rename or delete classes you do not teach, and change the Sample Fee Plan to your own fees. Students and classes you created yourself are never touched.
A sample student or staff member is also kept, with all of their records, if removing them would undo real work — for example a fee payment that is already in your accounts, a staff member placed in your timetable or given an app login. Delete those yourself if you do not need them.
