Install and sign in to EDUBase SMS App
This guide covers EDUBase SMS App 3.3 (version code 16) and later. Open General → EDUBase App Links → SMS App → Download APK on the Android phone with your school's SIM. Install the current APK over your existing app to retain its settings.
The sign-in screen is titled EDUBase SMS App and uses the same visual style as the native Android Owners App. Enter your institute code, username and password. Remember me is checked by default and prefills only your institute code and username after a successful login; the password field remains empty. Uncheck it to clear saved form details. Your active sending session remains signed in until logout, independently of Remember me.
Choose campuses and review messages
A single campus is selected automatically; for multiple campuses, select the campuses this phone should serve and press Start using. Stop the sending service before using Change to update that selection. Allow the SMS and Phone permissions and choose the correct SIM when asked.
The Send Large Messages control has been removed. The phone keeps its existing saved message-handling behavior. If a long message fails, shorten the message or contact support; there is no YES/NO switch on the main screen now.
Open Sent Today or Failed Today to see the newest messages first. A failed message may mean a wrong number, missing SIM balance, weak signal or a phone permission problem. Check these before retrying.
Read the web SMS reports
- Exam & Att → Attendance Report → SMS Report: student attendance, marks, diary, fee and other student messages.
- HRM → Employee Extras → SMS Report: employee messages.
Both reports no longer show a Device ID column. Read SMS Status, Send_at and the message or API response instead. Not Set means the message is waiting for a phone; Disabled means it has been held back. A web Sent status does not guarantee the recipient received it: check the phone's Failed Today list and selected campuses if a recipient reports a missing App SMS. SMS Blaster delivery is not tracked in the web report, so those rows can remain Not Set after sending.
SMS App 3.4: the 20-second countdown
Open EDUBase SMS App → Send SMS. The sending screen now shows a countdown instead of the moving animation. After a school message is successfully sent, the timer starts at 20 seconds. At zero, the app can send the next message. Each successful message, including a retry, starts a new countdown. A failed message skips this wait.
The countdown continues while the screen is closed; returning to the screen shows the remaining time. Internet fetching or status confirmation can take longer than the countdown. Login OTP messages use a separate immediate-delivery process.
Install the update from General → EDUBase App Links → SMS App → Download APK. Install over your existing app to keep its settings.
