Exam Reports: Tabulation Sheet of All Subject Marks

EDUBase Examination Reports give class, section, subject, term and combined result views with grades and positions, printable or exportable to Excel. The combined views and award lists are the closest match to a tabulation sheet.

Which exam reports show all students' marks together?

A principal usually wants one sheet per class that lists every student against every subject, with totals, grades and positions. This is often called a tabulation sheet or a gazette. In EDUBase the place to start is Examination Reports, which produces class, section, subject, term and combined result views with grades and positions.

The marks come from the award lists, where marks are entered per class, subject and exam. Combined award lists cover several subjects, so the entry stage and the reporting stage use the same data.

  • Examination Reports: class, section, subject and term views with grades, positions and printable result cards.
  • Combined reports: results across subjects and exams in one view, set up through the report designs.
  • Award lists: the marks-entry sheets per class, subject and exam, which can also be printed or exported.

How are the results calculated before they appear on a report?

Reports reflect the setup you do once: subjects and subject groups attached to classes, test types such as monthly tests, mid-term and final, and weightage for term totals. Grading policies set the grade bands and pass marks, either school-wide or for specific classes.

Positions can be class-wide or section-wise. The school can choose to count positions only among students who passed every subject, which matters for a fair merit list.

  • Test types and weightage decide how monthly, mid-term and final marks add up to a term total.
  • Grading policies decide grades and pass marks.
  • Subject allocation handles optional or elective subjects for individual students.

What is the difference between a result card and a class-wide sheet?

A result card is addressed to one child and one family. A class-wide view is for the principal and the examination in-charge, who need to compare students and check for entry mistakes before results are released.

EDUBase supports both from the same marks. Result cards use themed designs with the school's branding and custom signatures, while the class, section and combined views serve the staff room.

  • Use result cards to hand out at the parent-teacher meeting.
  • Use class and combined views to review results, check positions and file a copy.

How should a principal review results before release?

Enter marks on the award lists first, then open Examination Reports for the class and check grades and positions. Fix any wrong entry on the award list and open the report again.

Marks can be hidden from the Parents App until the school is ready. Results can therefore be entered now and released to parents later, for example at the parent-teacher meeting.

  • Check that every subject has marks for the class.
  • Check pass marks and grade bands against the grading policy.
  • Print or export a copy for the school record.
  • Release marks to parents only when you decide.

Can the sheets be printed or exported?

Yes. Every award list and report can be printed or exported, and Examination Reports include an Excel and print option. This is useful when the board, a trustee or a branch office asks for a copy.

Beyond student results, the Teacher Performance report turns the same marks into a per-teacher view with pass rate, averages and a comparison against other teachers of the same subject.

  • Print for the notice board or the file.
  • Export to Excel for further analysis.
