Mobile Apps Download Links for Parents and Teachers

Open the EDUBase App Links screen in the web portal, which stores the Google Play store links and download links for the EDUBase apps, and copy them into an SMS, WhatsApp or notice. Parents log in with a one-time SMS code; teachers use the Teachers App login set on their employee record.

Where are the app download links kept in the web portal?

The web portal has a screen called EDUBase App Links. It stores the store links and download links for the EDUBase apps so office staff can copy them straight into a message instead of searching Google Play each time.

EDUBase App Links sits with the other Parents App Controls, alongside Parent App Analytics, Parent App Privileges and the Parents App OTP Portal, so everything needed to get families onto the app is in one place.

Which app should parents, teachers and the owner install?

EDUBase publishes 4 free mobile apps on Google Play, all for Android. Each one is meant for a different person, so send the right link to the right group.

  • EDUBase Parents App: attendance, fees, marks, diary and notices, leave applications, messages to the school and PTM invitations.
  • EDUBase Teachers App: marking attendance, writing the diary, running PTMs with voice notes, messaging parents, and seeing their own attendance, notices and payslip.
  • EDUBase Owners App: today's P&L, attendance, collections and defaulters, approvals, announcements and message oversight across all campuses.
  • EDUBase QR Attendance App: scanning student and employee QR cards at the gate or in class, with attendance marked in real time.

How do I send the links to parents and teachers?

Copy the link from EDUBase App Links and send it through the channels the school already uses. Parents who have not yet installed the app will not see in-app notices, so SMS or WhatsApp is the practical way to reach them first.

  • SMS Blaster: send the link to any selection of students, families, classes or staff.
  • WhatsApp Service: send from the school's own WhatsApp number, linked by QR code.
  • SMS templates: keep a standard wording for the app invitation so every campus sends the same message.
  • Staff SMS: send the Teachers App link to employees and check the log afterwards.

How do parents and teachers sign in after installing?

Parents do not need a password. They enter a mobile number saved on their child's record and type the one-time code sent to it by SMS, so keep guardian numbers on the admission record up to date before sending links.

Teachers sign in to the Teachers App with the school's institute code and the login set on their employee record in HRM, Manage Employees, or by scanning the sign-in QR code printed from that screen. The same record is where you assign the classes and subjects they will see for attendance and the diary.

How can I check which families have installed the app?

Parent App Analytics shows adoption by class and section, so you can see which classes have few installs and send the link again to just those families.

The Owners App also shows how many parents use the app, which helps the principal follow up with class teachers.

What about the SMS and WhatsApp sender apps?

Two further tools are for the school office, not for parents. The EDUBase Free SMS Sending App is an Android app downloaded from the portal rather than Google Play; it sends the portal's SMS queue from the school's own SIM, campus by campus.

The EDUBase WhatsApp Sender runs on a Windows PC and sends the portal's WhatsApp notifications from the school's linked number. Schools that prefer not to keep a PC running can use the hosted WhatsApp service instead.
