Teacher App: Missing Classes and Class Assignment

If a class is missing in the Teacher App, check the teacher's class assignment and the school's class setup. In EDUBase, create the teacher's app login and assign classes and subjects from the employee record.

Why should you check the teacher's class assignment?

A missing class is a reason to review the teacher's assignment before changing the school's class structure. EDUBase keeps the Teacher App login, assigned classes and subjects with the employee record in Staff Management (HRM). Teachers use their assigned classes for attendance and diary.

Start by identifying the employee record associated with the teacher's app login. Compare its assignments with the classes the teacher is expected to handle. Treat an incomplete assignment as something to check, rather than assuming every missing class has the same cause.

  • Confirm which teacher and employee record you are reviewing.
  • Check the classes assigned to that employee.
  • Review subject assignments alongside the teacher's teaching responsibilities.
  • Identify whether the difficulty concerns attendance, diary or another app task.

How do you assign classes to a teacher?

In Staff Management (HRM), open the relevant employee record. Create the Teacher App login from that record if the teacher does not already have one, and assign the classes and subjects the teacher needs.

Use the school's agreed teaching allocation as your reference. After completing the assignment, ask the teacher to check the relevant attendance or diary task in the Teacher App. This provides a practical check that the intended class is available for the work they need to do.

  • Locate the correct employee record.
  • Create the Teacher App login where needed.
  • Assign the required classes and subjects.
  • Have the teacher verify the intended task in the app.

What if the class itself is missing from school setup?

Review School Setup & Multi-Campus if the expected class cannot be identified when checking assignments. EDUBase defines which classes run at each campus and which sections belong to each class.

Confirm the intended campus, class and section before creating or changing anything. A class that needs an assignment and a class that needs to be configured are different administrative tasks. Establish which task applies so that an assignment issue does not lead to an unnecessary extra class.

  • Check which campus runs the class.
  • Confirm the class and its sections in the school's setup.
  • Return to the employee record to complete the teacher's assignment.

Which staff privileges should the administrator review?

If the administrator cannot access the employee record or make the required change, review their web portal privileges. EDUBase supports per-user, per-screen and per-action rights, including view-only versus edit access, with campus scope.

The teacher's class assignment and the administrator's permission to edit records are separate checks. Staff with rights to several campuses can switch campus from the top bar. Use the relevant campus context when reviewing the school's setup and employee details.

  • Check access to the required records and actions.
  • Confirm that the administrator has the relevant campus rights.
  • Ask an authorised administrator to make changes where access is restricted.

What should you do if the class still does not appear?

Record the teacher, campus, class, section and affected task, together with what you checked. These details make the unresolved issue clearer when requesting help.

The in-app AI assistant answers how-to questions in English or Roman Urdu and provides links to the relevant screen and tutorial video. EDUBase also provides an in-app Docs page, training on request, and support through WhatsApp group and phone.

  • State whether attendance, diary or another task is affected.
  • Describe the class and subject assignments already reviewed.
  • Include any difficulty accessing or updating the employee record.

Frequently asked questions

Where do I assign classes to a teacher?
Assign classes and subjects from the employee record in Staff Management (HRM). The Teacher App login is also created from that record.
Does creating a Teacher App login complete the class assignment?
Check both the login and the class assignments. EDUBase supports creating the login and assigning classes and subjects from the employee record, so review each part.
Should I create another class if a teacher cannot see it?
First check the existing class setup and the employee's assignments. Create or change a class only after confirming what the school's campus, class and section structure requires.
Can view-only access prevent an administrator from assigning classes?
EDUBase distinguishes view-only access from edit rights. An authorised administrator should review the staff member's relevant screen, action and campus privileges.
Who can help if the assignments look correct?
Use the in-app AI assistant or Docs page for guidance, or contact EDUBase support through WhatsApp group or phone. Explain which teacher, class and app task are affected.
