Open Create Accounting Periods
Open Finance → Accounting Periods, then use the existing Create action.
Choose your layout
Classic opens first unless another default is saved. Try the new layout and View old layout switch both ways. This family shares its own layout choice across the list, Create, Update and View. Explicit layout links override the saved default for a visit. Failed preference saves retain the previous choice and offer Retry.
Switching on the same child keeps its identifier, query values, hash, navigation state and same mounted form engine. Existing list actions and Back links remain their original bare destinations. List filters and page position may reset when switching layouts.
Original rules and recovery
Create retains Begin, End and Is Closed. Begin must be strictly before End; equal or reversed dates are rejected. Both dates are required and the original multipart fields and closed flag are retained. Is Closed remains a record flag, not a posting lock. Loading, saving or failed record metadata hides stale fields and print and blocks callbacks. Retry repeats the failed record query. Original missing-ID/error navigation remains.
Browser Print
Original form fields or all saved View values remain in browser Print; added help/context and original hidden actions stay excluded. No new dedicated Print, export, permission, message or financial action is added. Layout switching does not save a record.
