Core › Holiday Calendar. It carries its own permission, so if you cannot see it, ask your school administrator to give you Holiday Calendar in Users & Privileges.
What it is for
EDUBase had no way of knowing which days your school is closed. This is that list. Today it is used by Late Fee Automation: a late fee that would land on one of these days is moved to the next working day instead.
Your weekly off is NOT entered here
A day off that happens every week — Sunday, or Friday and Sunday — is a setting on the Late Fee Automation screen. Only put dated closures here, so you are not entering 52 Sundays a year.
Two kinds of holiday
- Repeats every year — a fixed date such as 14 August. Enter it once and it applies every year. The six national holidays already in your list are of this kind.
- This date only — everything else: a local closure, an inspection day, and Eid.
Why Eid is not already in the list
Eid ul Fitr, Eid ul Azha, Ashura and Eid Milad un Nabi follow the lunar calendar. They move by about eleven days each year and the exact dates are confirmed only days beforehand, so there is no correct date to fill in for you. Add them yourself each year, with “Repeats every year” left unticked, once the dates are announced.
The pre-filled national holidays are yours to change
Kashmir Day, Pakistan Day, Labour Day, Independence Day, Iqbal Day and Quaid-e-Azam Day are filled in as a starting point. Provincial calendars differ and many schools stay open on some of them — delete any you do not observe. If you delete one by mistake, Restore national holidays puts them back.
One campus or all of them
Leave Applies to as All campuses for a school-wide closure, or pick a campus when only that one is shut.
