Why does EDUBase open a different, phone-sized dashboard on my mobile, and how do I use it?

Where in EDUBase: Mobile

Last updated

Mobile (/mobile) is the web software's own phone-sized dashboard — not a separate app. When you log in on a screen 768 pixels wide or narrower the normal dashboard sends you here automatically; when the screen becomes wider it sends you back. You must be logged in, and you see the same school data with the same permissions.

What is on the page

  1. Top bar with the ☰ menu button
  2. Quick buttons Student Reports, Employee Reports, Apps & Updates that scroll down the page (the last shows a badge for unread news)
  3. Summary cards: Admission Queries, Active Students, Fee Plans (with how many students have none), Unpaid Challans, each with a "This Month" line; then Un-paid Amount and Paid This Month
  4. Daily Income & Expenses chart with a month picker and a ⋮ menu to Print, Save as JPEG or Save as PNG
  5. Student Reports: new admissions, inactive students, admission capacity, strength, attendance pie, today's birthdays, complaints & suggestions, discount types — each with a button that opens the full report
  6. Employee Reports: status cards, attendance summary, pending approvals
  7. Mobile Apps & Updates and the EDUBase Updates – News Feed

Steps: reaching any other screen

  1. Tap ☰
  2. Switch between Management and Configuration (the visitor-gate login sees only its own short list, with no switch)
  3. Open a group (Admissions, Extras, Finance, Exam & Att, …) and tap the page
  4. Appearance and Logout are always at the bottom of the menu

Common confusion

"I want the full desktop dashboard on my phone." Use the browser's Desktop site option (on a large phone, turning it sideways can be enough); once the window is wider than 768 pixels the normal dashboard comes back by itself.

"What does the birthday button send?" The Wish Student button under today's birthdays: with no birthdays it just says No birthdays today. Otherwise it asks Send birthday SMS to N students? and only after you confirm sends the saved student birthday SMS template to each child's father contact through the SMS app, plus a Parents App notification. Nothing goes without that confirmation.

"The chart is empty." It shows one month at a time (up to today for the current month) — change the month picker.

What it does NOT do

It is not the Owner App, Teacher App or Parents App and installs nothing. It only re-arranges the web dashboard for a small screen; every button opens the same page the desktop version opens.
