Open Manage Designations
Open Core Settings → HRM Settings → Manage Designations. This settings screen is embedded inline in the main page; the existing standalone route remains available.
Choose your layout
Classic opens first unless another default is saved. Try the new layout and View old layout switch both ways. Departments, Designations, Manage Designations and Employment Types share the HRM reference layout choice. Explicit layout links override it for a visit. Failed preference saves retain the previous choice and offer Retry. Inside HRM Settings, switching keeps the container, selected item, query, hash, navigation state and same mounted form draft. Switching does not save a record.
Forms and review
Original required fields, trimmed values, record identifiers, create/update callbacks, confirmed delete and access checks remain. Search checks the original designation name, designation group and creator fields only. The grid uses local pages; browser Print keeps the complete matching original table, group selector and form. No sorting, file export or dedicated Print action is added. Local search or paging does not change the loaded records or mutation payloads. Designation groups and individual designations remain separate records; the original Teacher designation eligibility note still applies.
Loading and failures
Loading, refresh, saving or failed choices block form and grid callbacks and hide stale print output. Retry repeats the original failed query. Unsaved form values remain in the same engine. A delete confirmation accepted after a later loading or error state cannot submit while blocked.
No permission is granted and no message is sent by choosing a layout. Pay Modes remains outside this layout family.
