Student 360°: one child, every signal the school already holds

Everything on this screen already existed in EDUBase — spread across eleven other screens. Student 360° puts one child on one page, over one period, so a class teacher preparing for a parent meeting does not have to open six reports and line them up by hand.

Where it is

Admissions → Student 360°. Search by name, SID, roll number, admission number or family number, and the whole report loads for that child.

There are three separate permissions, and they were rolled out differently on purpose:

• Admission :: Student 360 Dashboard — read the report. Already given to your existing staff logins, so the screen should be in your Admissions menu now.
• Admission :: Student 360 Conduct Log — record appreciations and warnings. Also already given.
• Admission :: Student 360 Meeting Notes — record meeting notes, and read notes someone marked Confidential. Given to nobody — your school decides who gets it.

Meeting notes were held back deliberately. A note marked Confidential is meant to stay off the front desk, and that protection only means something while a small number of people hold this permission. Give it to your counsellor, your principal, whoever should be reading counselling notes — in Admin → Users & Privileges. That same screen is where you remove any of the three from staff who should not have them, and where you grant them to a user created after the rollout.

One period, everywhere

Every section on the page obeys the same date range, shown at the top. If your school has set an academic year (Admin → Academic Duration), that is the default; otherwise it runs from 1 January to today. Change it once and the whole page moves together — attendance, marks, fee and conduct.

The only exception is the Yearly Progress line, which deliberately shows the child's whole history. "Has this child improved since they joined" is a different question from "how is this term going", and the chart is labelled accordingly.

The 360° Score — what it is, and what it is not

It is a weighted average of six things we can measure. It is ordinary arithmetic: you can check it by hand, and you can disagree with it. It is not a prediction and it is not produced by AI.

A pillar with no data is left out entirely — it is never counted as zero. If your school has not marked attendance yet this term, attendance simply does not take part in the average, and the page says so underneath the score. This matters: scoring "no data" as zero would make every child in a school that is behind on data entry look like a failing student.

Each of the six pillars is shown next to the score with its own value and a one-line reason. If the score ever looks wrong, that list tells you which pillar produced it.

Attendance — the rules that surprise people

• Late and Short Leave count as present. That is how every attendance report in EDUBase has always worked.
• Off Days are removed from the total, not counted against the child.
• Unmarked days are not absences. They are days in the range where nobody marked the register. They are shown as their own number and never added to absence — if that number is large, fix the register before reading the percentage.

Only the attendance codes your school has switched on are shown, so you will not see a "Paper Leave: 0" chip if your school does not use paper leave.

Fee

The fee position is worked out exactly as Student Wise Fee Status works it out — from the money, not from the challan's own status flag. Late fee and attendance fine are already inside the payable amount. A challan fully waived by discount counts as paid, because the family owes nothing.

Conduct — a new record your school owns

EDUBase had nowhere to record that a child did something well, or something wrong. This screen adds one. Each entry is an appreciation or a warning, with a severity of Minor, Moderate or Serious, and it counts towards the Conduct pillar.

Two things worth knowing:

• A serious warning costs more than a serious appreciation earns. That is deliberate — three "good in sports" entries should not cancel a serious incident.
• An entry keeps the value it had when it was written. If we ever change how severities are weighted, your past entries do not silently change value.

Meeting notes, and the confidential tick

Record a conversation with the student, with a teacher, or with a guardian, along with what happens next. This is not the PTM module — PTM is a scheduled meeting day with parent feedback; these are your own notes, written any time.

Ticking Confidential hides the body of the note from everyone except the person who wrote it and users who hold the Meeting Notes permission. The note's date and type stay visible to everyone, so two staff members can never write contradicting notes about the same meeting without seeing that the other one exists.

Risk signal

Five checks run every time you open the page. Risk is raised by things happening together — attendance falling and marks slipping and a complaint left open — not by any one number on its own. Every flag names the figure that raised it, so if you know the child was in hospital that fortnight, you can see exactly that and set it aside.

What this screen deliberately does not do

• It does not replace the source screens. Every section links out to the report it came from. If a number looks wrong, follow the link — that screen is the authority.
• It does not show homework completion. The Student Diary is recorded per class, not per child, so there is no honest way to say what percentage of homework this student finished. Rather than show a made-up figure, we show what the diary actually records.
• It does not invent anything. If a section is empty, it is because your school has not recorded that data — and the page says which.
