Where to find it (New Layout): Admissions › Fee Challans — Generate Challan, Installment Wise, Scheduled, Add Amount, Pay or Print and Challan Discounts are tabs along the top of the page. You only see the tabs your login may open; on the classic layout the menu still lists each screen.
Light mode or Full mode for the whole school
In Admin → Institute Setup → Light mode / Full mode the school chooses what everyone sees first: Light mode hides advanced settings on every page until a person clicks Show advanced settings; Full mode shows them. New schools start in Light mode.
A person's own choices always come first: a page where they clicked Show advanced settings stays that way the next time they sign in, and the profile-menu switch Show advanced settings by default on every page sets their own default.
Reapply Light mode settings (on the same card, Light mode only) clears every person's remembered choices in your school, so every page goes back to the simple Light layout. Nothing else changes — no data, no option is removed. Only staff with the Admin :: Light Mode privilege can switch the mode or reapply.

Every page in EDUBase starts simple. The options a school rarely needs are not removed — they sit under Advanced settings on the page they belong to. Click Show advanced settings to see them, and Hide advanced settings to tuck them away again.
Your choice, page by page
- The choice is yours: it changes what you see, not what anyone else in your school sees.
- It is remembered per page, and on pages with more than one group of options (for example more actions and all columns on Manage Students) per group — mix and match.
- Your profile menu (your name, top right) has Show advanced settings by default on every page. A page where you chose otherwise keeps your choice.
- Staff who used EDUBase before 12 October 2026 start with advanced settings shown, so nothing moved for them. New schools and new staff start with them hidden.
Where you will find Advanced settings
- Generate Challans — same due date for all challans, expiry date, notes, first-time payables tick (stays ON when hidden), prorated, re-enrolled, attendance fine.
- Pay or Print Fee Challans — actions: Delete, Add Fine, Freeze, Installment, the other print layouts and the print settings; payment: the payment note.
- Manage Students and Admission Queries — actions: Delete, Bulk Edit, Batch Transfer (queries), Print 2, Change Log, Blank Form; columns: every grid column instead of the short set.
- Admission form and staff form — rarely filled fields sit under Advanced settings (Show advanced settings on the form). Required fields are never hidden, and nothing typed there is lost.
- Dashboard (Customise, Add widgets), Manage Employees (bulk staff SMS; all columns), Manage Fee Plans (Delete, yearly increment), Print Certificates / Date Sheets and Day Wise Paid Challans (all columns).
Hidden options keep their usual defaults, and every feature works exactly as before.
