Bio ID Recovery

See each staff member's Bio ID before and after 19 Oct 2026 side by side, and choose which old IDs to bring back.

Why some staff Bio IDs changed

On 19 October 2026 an EDUBase update changed many staff Bio IDs to a number starting with 900, for example 6 became 900004. This was our mistake and it is fixed: Bio IDs can no longer change on their own. Your old numbers were kept in the nightly backup taken before the change.

Restore the IDs you choose

Open Admin → Core Settings → Bio ID Recovery. Each row shows the staff member, the Bio ID before 19 October and the Bio ID now. Tick the rows you want back and press Restore selected. Leave a row alone if the new number is already enrolled on your reader and you want to keep it.

When a student holds the old number

Students received Bio IDs for the first time on 19 October, and some received a number a staff member used before. The row tells you. Restoring gives the number back to the staff member and leaves that student's Bio ID empty. You can give the student a new number later in the student record. If another staff member holds the old number, the row explains it and cannot be restored here.

Undo

A restored row shows Undo. Undo puts the 900 number back, and gives the student their number back if nobody has taken it since. Every change is recorded in the activity log with the old and new Bio ID. If your reader already has staff enrolled with a number, update the reader after a restore.
