Choose your Assign Roll Numbers layout

Choose a layout for the existing section counter editor.

Open Assign Roll Numbers

General → Extras → Roll No. Slip → Assign Roll Numbers. Existing access checks and the separate Roll No. Slip page remain unchanged.

Choose your layout

Classic opens first unless you save another default. Try the new layout and View old layout switch both ways. A layout in the page address takes priority for that visit. Failed default saves keep the previous choice and offer Retry. Switching views keeps the section counter drafts and page address; it does not assign roll numbers.

Original section counters

The original tree lists campus, class and section rows. A start counter uses the original server value, then the saved counter for this institute when needed. Existing drafts are initialized only for row keys that do not yet have a value. A class without a section still appears as not set, but that row is excluded from assignment. No selection, filtering, sorting, paging, page-length, grid-settings or Excel/PDF controls are added.

Save and partial outcomes

Save Assigned Roll No keeps the original base-10 integer parsing and accepts valid section rows with a start counter from 1 to 999999. It submits the original campus, class and section identifiers and number series without adding confirmation. Requests run separately for each valid section. Successful sections retain their counters in the existing institute-local storage and show the original success message; failed sections are named in the original error message. Go Back returns to Roll No. Slip. Save returns there only when every submitted section succeeds; the original table refresh remains unchanged. Assignment changes student exam roll numbers; it does not publish slips, assign exam halls or send messages.

Loading and native Print

During a required tree refresh or failure, the new view retains its grid and counter hosts hidden, with their drafts intact. Retry section reads retries only the exact active failed section-tree read. Save, counters and Reload stay protected while reads or saves are pending; the original Go Back remains usable during read failure or pending Save. Classic retains its original loading and error presentation. Native Print retains the original rendered table and control scope; no special paper format or new export is added. Source tests use local fixtures for assignment requests and storage changes; they are not live assignment or physical paper proof.
