Student Filtering on the award list
When you create or edit an award list, Student Filtering decides which students are picked up:
- Class Wise — every active student of the selected campus, class, sections, session, gender and group, regardless of their subjects.
- Subject Wise — only students who have the award list’s subject linked on their admission form (Student Subjects on the student add/edit form).
What Subject Wise means in practice
A student takes exactly the subjects selected on their admission form. If Ali is linked to English but not to Chemistry, an English award list includes him and a Chemistry award list does not — this is enforced since the 2026-08-13 fix. A student with no subjects linked appears only in Class Wise lists.
If a student is missing (or wrongly present)
- Open the student in Admissions › Manage Students and check Student Subjects.
- Add or remove the subject there and save.
- Create the award list again (or use Add New Student on an existing list).
Also check the usual suspects: the student’s session, section and active status must match the award list’s selection.
When one Subject Wise list covers several subjects
A Subject Wise award list with more than one subject on it includes a student who takes any of those subjects. So on an English + Chemistry list, Ali — who takes English only — is on the list, and Sara — who takes Chemistry only — is on it too.
On the marks screen each of them only gets a box for their own subject. Ali’s Chemistry box is locked and marked Not assigned, and Chemistry is left out of his Total — it is not counted as zero, it is not counted at all. Full detail: Combined award lists.
Creating an award list from the Teacher App
Teachers create award lists in the Teacher App (Add Marks › Create Award List). The form follows the same rules as this page:
- Campus, Class and Sections show only what the teacher is given in HRM › Assign Classes for Teacher App (the Diary/Exam or Subjects ticks).
- Sessions and Groups show only the ones that active students hold in those classes and sections, so an old session nobody studies in any more is not offered. From Teacher App 7.3.3 the two lists narrow again as the campus, class and sections are picked.
- Every subject graded by Marks gets an Oral and a Written box: enter the total marks for each (at least one of them). The award list’s total is Oral + Written. Checkbox and Direct Grading subjects have no marks boxes.
- Student Filtering offers Class Wise and Subject Wise, exactly as described above.
If a session or group you expect is missing, the class and section you picked has no active student in it: check the students in Admissions › Manage Students. If a class or section is missing, tick it for the teacher in HRM › Assign Classes for Teacher App.
