Before a result message goes to parents, EDUBase shows you the exact messages. Choose how they read, check who receives each one, then press Send. Nothing is sent until you do.
Where the window opens
- Exam & Att › Examination › Update Marks and SMS — tick Father, Mother or Student and press Save & Send SMS. The marks are saved first, then the Send result SMS window opens. If Parent App Notification is ticked, pressing Update Marks opens the window too, so the notification is checked before it goes.
- Exam & Att › Examination › View Marks and SMS — press Get Record, tick the results and the contacts, then press Individual SMS, Subject Combine SMS or Combine SMS.
Message type
- Individual — one message for every subject.
- Subject Combine — one message per student listing every subject, with the total.
- Combine — one message per student with the total, percentage and grade.
Format
- School's own template — the text saved in Exam › SMS Template. To change the wording itself, edit it there; the window shows it filled in for each student.
- Exam Alert — points — one fact per line, for example:
Exam Alert Subject: English Student Name: Ali Raza Obtained Marks: 22/30 Class: 10th A Exam: CT-3 Date: 2026-07-08 (school name)
- Short — one line — for example Ali Raza (10th) CT-3, English: 22/30 - (school name). Usually a single SMS.
The window remembers the format you chose last time on the same computer.
Absent and leave
When a student is marked A (absent) or L (leave) on the award list, the message no longer says 0/30. It says, for example, Absent in the English test held on 2026-07-08 in CT-3., English: Absent or Obtained Marks: Absent. The 0 stays on the result card and in the totals — only the message changes. This applies to every result message, including marks sent from the teacher app.
Reading the window
- The number on the Send button is how many messages will go: one per contact for every message.
- Each preview shows who receives it and how long it is. Long messages, and Urdu text, become more than one SMS.
- … will not get a message — see why lists the students who are skipped: no number for the ticked contact, no grading policy for a combined message, or a missing class or section.
- Closing the window, or Don't send, sends nothing. On Update Marks and SMS the marks stay saved.
Schools with more than one campus
The school's own template is read from the first campus's SMS Template and used for every campus, as it always has been. The window says so when a school has more than one campus template.
