Choose your article editing layout

Choose a layout for editing an existing Documentation article.

Open Edit

Docs → choose an existing article → Edit, available to permitted EDUBase staff.

Choose your layout

Classic opens first unless you save another default. Try the new layout and View old layout switch both ways. A layout in the page address takes priority for that visit. Failed default saves keep the previous choice and offer Retry. The choice is shared by the existing Documentation pages. Switching views keeps your current draft and page address; it does not publish, save or delete an article. Existing staff permissions remain unchanged.

Update an article

The editor loads the existing title, category, summary, order, body and publication choice. Save changes keeps the original validation and saves the current article text, including the latest body edits. Changing the title does not change the existing article address. Cancel returns to the article. A different article still loads its own existing values; changing layouts alone does not replace your current draft. Unchecking Published keeps the article as a staff draft under the existing rules.

Loading and recovery

Retry documentation reads reloads failed required data for the current view. The new view temporarily disables protected controls while that data is loading or an action is pending. Previously loaded content and drafts are retained for recovery. Classic keeps its existing loading and error presentation.

Native Print

Native Print keeps the existing rendered content, margins and control visibility. No new paper format or export is added.
