What this is for
A busy gate at peak hours: staff clock In on the biometric / QR / face device as they enter, but clocking Out on the same device queues people up again. Staff can now finish the day from the Teacher App › Geo Location Attendance screen instead — and the reverse works too (Mark In from the app, Mark Out on the device). Both methods write to the same attendance row.
What you need before mixing
- Geo Location Attendance switched on for the campus (HRM › Geo Location Attendance) with the campus location saved.
- The person's phone registered under Manage Registered Devices with Allow Attendance ticked.
- The person's Teacher App sign-in active on their employee record.
How a mixed day reads
- The day opens with the first In, whichever method records it.
- The next mark from either method is the Out that closes that visit. A second visit works the same way: the next In opens it, the next Out closes it.
- Pressing Mark In while an In is still open answers "You already marked in. Please mark out!" — that is the guard working, not an error.
- If the auto-absent run already marked the person Absent, a geo Mark In fills the day in and recomputes Present / Late / Absent against your own Mark Late After / Mark Absent After settings.
- The Out Time rule (early out → Short Leave) applies to geo Outs exactly as it does to device Outs.
Good to know
- There is a short anti-double-marking pause (5 minutes) between two marks of the same day.
- The attendance report keeps both times; the day's Type column shows the method that wrote last.
