Sign in is not working — how do I find out why my login is failing and get back into the portal?

Where in EDUBase: Login

Last updated

The portal is always at www.edubaseems.com — open it, press Login, type your school's Institute Code, then your Username and Password. Staff report this as login nahi ho raha, sign in ni ho rha or portal open nahi ho raha, which can mean several different things, so read the words on the screen first: the message names the cause.

Match the message on the sign-in screen

  • "Institute code not found" — the code is mistyped (capitals and spaces do not matter) or the school account was closed. If that code always worked, wait five to ten minutes and try the same code again rather than typing a new one.
  • "Invalid username or password" — wrong for this school, and passwords are case-sensitive. Use Forgot password? with the email saved on your user account, or ask your school admin to set you a new one under Admin › Users & Privileges › Change Password.
  • "Your account is inactive. Please contact administrator." — your own admin switched that user off. They set Status back to Active under Admin › Users & Privileges.
  • "This employee is inactive in HRM" — this school login is linked to an employee marked Left or inactive. A school administrator checks the person's status under HRM › Manage Employees. The link is reviewed under Admin › Users & Privileges; do not create a second login to get around it. Existing sessions are also blocked.
  • "This account is suspended" / Account Suspended Due to Non-Payment — the whole school account is held, not your user; the screen gives the number to send the payment proof to.
  • A privacy or certificate warning before the page even appears — the computer's clock is wrong. Set its date and time (switch on automatic time), then reload.

No message — sign in just does not go through

  • The page never appears on any computer (khul hi nahi raha) — that is the site reaching you, not your account. Check the school's EDUBase WhatsApp group: maintenance is announced there and can last a few hours.
  • You get in, then land back on the sign-in page again and again — someone else is signing in with the same username. One username can only be signed in on one computer; give each person their own user account.
  • Only one person is stuck while colleagues are working — it is that user account: password, Status or a typing mistake in the username, not the portal.

What to send when you report a sign-in failure

Say it in your school's WhatsApp group, or press Talk to a human from a device that does open. Send the institute code, the username (never the password), the exact words on the screen, whether it fails for everyone or for one person, and a short screen recording of the attempt. "Sign in ni ho rha" on its own does not name the cause; the message on the screen does, which is why support asks for the recording first.

This is the web software. Teacher App and Parents App sign-in problems are answered separately.
