How do I switch attendance marks like Absent, Late and Short Leave on or off for students and employees?

Last updated

Admin › Attendance Acronym Active/Inactive lists every mark the system supports — Absent, Late, Leave, Short Leave, Death Leave, Paper Leave, Sandwich Leave — and lets you switch each one on or off.

Only the ones switched on appear as buttons on the attendance screens, so a school that does not use Sandwich Leave never sees it.

Kaunse marks chalu karne hain aur kaunse band rakhne hain — the whole list is on this one page and the choice is yours.

Students and employees are set separately

Each mark has two tick boxes: one for Employees and one for Students — students ke liye alag, staff ke liye alag. They are independent, which is what you want — Paper Leave makes sense for staff and not for children, so the options offered on the student register need not match the ones on the staff register.

Set both columns, then press Save once at the bottom. There is one Save for the whole page.

Where the choice shows up

  • Exam & Att › Student Attendance › Take Attendance — the student buttons
  • HRM › Attendance › Take Attendance — the employee buttons
  • Core › Student Attendance Fine — the mark you can fine against
  • Attendance reports — the columns

Steps

  1. Go to Admin › Attendance Acronym Active/Inactive
  2. Tick the marks you want under Students, and under Employees
  3. Press Save
  4. Reload the attendance screen to see the new buttons

Common confusion

"I switched a mark off — is old attendance lost?" No. Records already marked keep their value; you simply stop being offered that button for new entries.

"The button still is not there." Refresh the attendance page — the list is held briefly after it loads.

"Present is not in the list." Present and Off Day are always available and are not switched off.
