Exam & Att › Student Attendance › Take Attendance is the web register. Pick the date, press Go to Attendance, narrow the list to your class, and every student is listed — already set to Present. You only change the few who are not present and press Save Attendance.
Steps
- Open Exam & Att › Student Attendance › Take Attendance
- Choose the date in Select Date
- Press Go to Attendance — the students load, all on P (Present) by default
- Narrow the grid to your class with the column filters (campus, class, section) or the search box
- For each student who is not present, click the right letter:
- A — Absent
- L — Late (der se aane wale bachay — use this for late comers)
- OL — Leave
- SL — Short Leave
- OD — Off Day
- (and any other statuses your school has switched on)
- Press Save Attendance — or Save & Send SMS to save and message the parents of everyone not present
Only the statuses switched on under Admin › Attendance Acronym Active/Inactive appear as buttons. If Late or Leave is missing, it has been switched off there.

Where the attendance shows after saving
- Exam & Att › Student Attendance › View/Update Attendance — every student already marked for the date (from the web, the Teacher App, QR or face scans). Correct or delete marks here.
- Take Attendance — a student already marked for that date no longer appears here. So if a class is missing from Take Attendance, its attendance has most likely already been marked; look on View/Update Attendance.
Is Present really the default?
On this screen, yes — every student starts as Present so you only click the exceptions. For schools using QR or biometric devices this Present is only the starting value on the screen, not proof that the child scanned in; the scanned records are the ones that appear on View/Update Attendance.
A whole class or several classes at once
For marking many classes in one go, use Exam & Att › Student Attendance › Take Bulk Attendance.
