Manage Registered Devices — the page opens as Geo Attendance – Employee Registered Devices — lists the phones your staff have signed into the EDUBase Teacher App on. These are the devices that can mark employee attendance from a phone.
Each row is one registered device: Employee ID, Employee Name, Campus Name and the Device Name the phone reports, with a Delete button. The search box takes an employee name or a device name, and the dropdown narrows to one campus.
A device that is not on this list is refused, which is deliberate: without it, anyone with the app could mark attendance for your school. Student QR scanning and biometric readers keep their own allowed-device list on Admin › QR Biometric Attendance.
Face attendance gates are not on this list. They keep their own registry on Admin › Face Attendance Gates, where they are named, paused and revoked.
Remove an old phone you no longer control
Purana mobile ab kisi ke istemal mein nahi raha, ya kisi aur ke paas chala gaya — usko yahan se hatana zaroori hai. Remove it the day it stops being yours — a phone that was lost, replaced, or belonged to someone who has left. Removal is the thing that actually stops it being able to mark attendance. Delete asks you to confirm and warns that it cannot be undone.
One staff member, one attendance phone
A person who has signed in on two phones has two rows here — but only one of those phones may mark attendance: the one that got the permission first. That is why attendance stops when somebody changes phones and nobody removes the old row.
Steps
- Go to Manage Registered Devices
- Search the employee name, or the device name
- Check each device is one you recognise, and Delete any you do not
- Have the staff member sign in again on the phone they use now, then test one mark before relying on it
When a new device will not mark attendance
- It is not registered — this screen
- The person's older phone is still registered and still holds the attendance permission — delete that row, then sign in again on the new phone
- It is registered but not in the school's allowed device list — Admin › QR Biometric Attendance
- For a biometric reader, it authenticates through its own registry, so a reader that once needed a sentinel value in the QR Device ID box no longer does
Common confusion
"Attendance stopped after we changed phones." The new phone is a new device and needs registering; the old registration does not follow the SIM or the login.
"Two devices for one person." Both can be listed; only one of them marks attendance.
