How do I approve staff leave, and where do I post a notice for employees?

Last updated

Three screens under HRM › Employee Extras:

  • Leave Approval — staff leave requests waiting on a decision
  • Employee Notice Board — notices for staff
  • SMS Report — what was sent to staff, and whether it went

Approving leave

Open HRM › Employee Extras › Leave Approval, find the request and approve or reject it. An approved leave shows on the employee's attendance under the leave acronym, so it flows into the month's attendance and from there into salary.

Student leave is a different screen — this one is staff only.

Notices

HRM › Employee Extras › Employee Notice Board posts a notice to employees. Parent-facing notices are separate and live under the student side of the system.

Checking an SMS actually went

HRM › Employee Extras › SMS Report is the log of messages sent to staff. If somebody says they did not get a message, look here first — it will tell you whether the system sent it at all, which separates a sending problem from a phone problem.

The report no longer shows a Device ID column. Read SMS Status, Send_at and API Response to review the message. For App SMS, check the phone’s Failed Today list if a recipient did not receive it; the phone’s Sent Today and Failed Today lists show newest messages first.

The wording of those messages comes from HRM › SMS Templates.

Common confusion

"Approved leave did not appear on attendance." Check the month is not locked on HRM › Lock Update Attendance.

"The SMS report shows sent, but nobody received it." The system handed the message over successfully; the problem is downstream — check the SMS App phone’s selected campuses, SIM and Failed Today list, and the number on the employee's record.
