Why is a class not showing in the Teacher App for attendance, and where are a teacher's attendance classes ticked?

Where in EDUBase: HRM › Manage Employees › Assign Classes for Teacher App

Last updated

The Teacher App shows a teacher only the classes ticked for them on HRM › Manage Employees › Assign Classes for Teacher App, and it keeps two separate lists — one for the diary, one for attendance. So when a teacher says the class attendance ke liye app mein nazar nahi aa rahi, the class is nearly always ticked for Diary and not for Attendance.

Steps — tick the class for attendance

  1. Open HRM › Manage Employees › Assign Classes for Teacher App. One row on it is one campus, class and section.
  2. Find the section the teacher marks attendance of and press Assign Teacher.
  3. Find the teacher in the list and tick Attendance for them. The Diary box beside it is a separate permission. Tick their Subjects, and set Class Incharge if they are the incharge.
  4. Press Save changes, and repeat for every section that teacher takes.
  5. Ask the teacher to reopen the attendance screen in the app.

What the app does with those ticks

  • The attendance screen lists only the sections ticked under Attendance. A teacher with none is told they are in no class list, so the class list comes up empty.
  • The diary screen reads the Diary ticks instead. That is why a teacher can send a class its diary and still not find the same class for attendance.
  • Class Incharge is one teacher per section — giving it to somebody new takes it off whoever had it before.

A teacher who works both shifts

Most schools keep the same person twice, one staff record per shift, so both shifts require their own app login. The app finds the teacher by the Username under Teacher App Credentials, and it opens exactly one record for a username — so two records sharing one username can never both work, and a username already in use is refused when you save.

Give each record its own, slightly different user name, tick that shift's classes on that record, and each login then shows its own shift's classes. Creating that small difference in the second record's name — and telling that teacher the new one — is the whole fix.

Check the Active tick under Teacher App Credentials too: with it off the app answers Invalid Credentials OR Teacher Not Found! and nothing opens at all.

Common confusion

"The class is not even on the list to tick." The rows are limited to the campuses your own login may see, so a class of another campus needs a user who has that campus. Save changes also appears only for a user with update rights on this screen.
