Visitor Settings: naming your own offices

The "Meeting with / going to" list that the register, the scheduler and the gate all offer, and that every visitor report groups by. Rename freely; deleting is handled carefully.

One list, used by four screens. It ships with 22 sensible defaults — change them to whatever your school actually calls these places.

Renaming is safe

Each visit stores the office name as it was at the time. Renaming "Accounts / Fee Office" to "Bursary" in March does not retitle February's visits, and last term's report keeps saying what it said. Change names whenever they are wrong.

🔴 Removing is not the same as renaming

An office that has already been used cannot be deleted — pressing Remove deactivates it instead, and EDUBase tells you so. A deactivated office disappears from every picker straight away and stays readable on the visits that used it. That is how you retire one.

An office nobody has used yet is deleted outright, because there is no history to protect.

Department

Optional, and worth filling in: the visitor report can be narrowed by department, which is how a head of section asks "who came to see my people last month".

Campus

Leave it as "All campuses" unless the office genuinely exists on one site only. A single-campus school never has to think about this.
