Core › Student Group/Discipline holds named groups you can put students into — houses, discipline categories, activity groups, or any other grouping your school keeps outside class and section.
Press Create, fill Group Name and Description, and save. Each row also has View and Update.
Steps
- Go to Core › Student Group/Discipline
- Press Create
- Enter the group name and a description
- Save — the group is now available on student records
What it is not
It is not class or section — those come from Core › Classes and Core › Sections and drive attendance, exams and fees. A group here sits alongside them and does not affect a student's fee plan, challan or result.
Common confusion
"Should houses go here or in sections?" Here. Sections split a class for teaching; a house cuts across classes. Putting houses in sections will disturb attendance and result printing.
