How do I copy an app's download link from EDUBase App Links and send it to parents?

Last updated

General › EDUBase App Links lists every EDUBase app your school uses — Parents App, Teacher App, QR Attendance App, Owner App, SMS App, and Face Attendance — with the version each is on, and two buttons on every card.

  • Open Play Store opens that app's listing, which always installs the newest build. SMS App and Face Attendance are not on Play, so their button reads Download APK instead.
  • Copy link puts that same link on your clipboard — parents ko WhatsApp par bhejne ke liye, without being taken to the store yourself.

They are two buttons on purpose. They used to be one, which meant you could not copy a link to send to a parent without also being taken to the store.

Steps

  1. Go to General › EDUBase App Links
  2. Find the app — Parents, Teacher, and the others your school uses
  3. Press Copy link to put the link on your clipboard
  4. Paste it into your WhatsApp or SMS message to parents

The same cards appear on the dashboard's Mobile Apps card, so the two can never show different links.

The version line under each app

A Play Store app shows the version its listing is on. SMS App and Face Attendance show the version and size of the current APK. Their copied links are permanent — when EDUBase publishes a newer build, the same link serves it, so a link you sent last term still installs today's version. An app your school has no build for reads Not published yet and both its buttons are switched off.

For Face Attendance, open the link on the Android phone or tablet used at the school gate. After sign-in, the device appears under Admin › Face Attendance Gates, where the school can name it and review its status.

Send the link, not a file

Send parents the store link from this screen rather than forwarding an APK file. A forwarded file goes stale the moment a new version is released, and parents end up on a version the system no longer accepts.

Common confusion

"A parent installed it but cannot log in." Downloading is not the problem — logging in needs the OTP flow. Check the parent's mobile number on the student record first.

"The version here is older than the store shows." The store can take a few hours to propagate a new release.
