How many parents are actually using the Parents App — where do I see Active and Inactive parents and when they last used it?

Last updated

General › Parent App Analytics is the student list with the app's own columns on it — Parents App OTP, Login Status and Last Used — and two counters at the top: Active Parents and Inactive Parents. It tells you who is really on the app, not how many were told about it — kitne parents app par aa chuke hain aur kitne ab tak nahi.

What Active and Inactive mean

Active is a parent who has signed into the Parents App at least once for that child. Inactive is one who never has. Both counters ignore students who have left, so they always describe the children you have now.

Last Used is stamped every time the app is opened. A family that installed it in April and stopped still counts as Active, with an old Last Used date — that is what the date range at the top of the screen is for: set it and both counters and the list narrow to families who used the app in that period.

It counts students, not families

Every parent-app signal is stored against the student, not the family. A parent with three children in the school is counted three times, and a parent who opens the app every day but only ever looks at one child reads as one Active and two Inactive. Read the numbers as children whose parent is on the app.

Which class's parents are not on the app

The useful question is not the total, it is which classes are behind — kis class ke parents app par nahi hain. Set Login Status to Inactive and the campus, class and section columns show you exactly where the gap is, class by class, instead of guessing.

Adoption is usually uneven: one class teacher hands out the link and follows up, another does not. The fix is a class-by-class push to those parents, not another school-wide announcement.

Chasing the ones who are not on it

Tick the students you want, write the message under Send Parents App Message and press Send SMS. The Parents App OTP template is preselected — the one that carries the app link and the parent's code — and it goes to the father's number as an app SMS with a Parents App notification, unless you change those boxes.

Send the store link itself from General › EDUBase App Links — copy it and paste it into a message rather than forwarding an APK file.

Before blaming adoption

A parent who cannot log in counts as not using it. The usual causes are a wrong or missing mobile number on the student record, and a family sharing one number across siblings. Check a few of the missing families' numbers before assuming they are uninterested.

This screen is about the parents app, not about fees. For how many students have paid or not paid in a class, use Admissions › Student Wise Fee Status.

Common confusion

"It says active but they say they cannot see anything." Signed in is not the same as allowed to see — a logged-in parent can still be restricted in General › Parent App Privileges.
