The school's own login code (general OTP)
Yes — your institute can set one login code of its own for the Parents App. A parent can type it in the app instead of waiting for an SMS code, so the office does not have to be at a computer for every sign-in.
- Go to General › Parent App Analytics
- At the top, find the panel School login code for the Parents app
- Type a 6-digit code in Code, press Set code (or Change code), and switch it On. Copy copies the saved code
- Give that code to parents — by message, or put the tag
[parentsAppOTP]in an SMS template and the code goes out in the message
Keep it private: this code does not expire and it opens any parent account at your school until you change it or switch it off. The panel shows how many times it has been used. If you do not see the panel, your login does not have the privilege for it — ask your administrator (Admin › Users & Privileges).
Mother and father on two phones
Yes — the same Parents App can be used on both parents' phones. Install the app on each phone and sign in with the number registered on the student's record and a code (the texted code, or the school login code above). Once signed in, each phone stays signed in.
A parent's OTP did not arrive — share it from the grid
On General › Parent App Analytics every student row has a Parent App OTP column:
- Reveal — shows that parent's current code so you can read it out on the phone
- Send via WhatsApp — sends the code together with the Parents App download link to the parent on WhatsApp
Admissions › Manage Students has the same Parent App OTP column with Reveal. These buttons are for parents whose code did not reach them; revealing a code is recorded and needs the Parent App OTP privilege (see "How do I grant Parent App OTP access?"). Live code requests are also listed on General › Parent App OTP Portal.
Sharing the app link itself
Go to General › EDUBase App Links, find the Parents App card and press Copy link, then paste it into your WhatsApp or SMS message. Send the link rather than an APK file.
