The Owner App looks different after the update — where did the buttons go?

Last updated

Nothing was removed. Owner App 5.0 is a full redesign, and every screen, report and button you had is still there — many of them just moved to where you need them. This article walks through the new layout screen by screen.

The same header on every screen

Every screen now starts with the same header: your name and the school at the top, the bell (notifications) and your initial (the account menu) on the right, and a campus bar with a Switch button underneath.

  • Switch campus anywhere. Tap the campus bar on any screen — Home, a report, an approval, an old detail screen — pick a campus from the list, and that screen reloads for the new campus. The campus you pick stays selected on every screen and after you close the app.
  • The bell opens Notifications. If your EDUBase subscription is due, that is always the first item until it is paid; below it are approvals waiting, attendance alerts and notices. The bell's small dot stays on by design.
  • Your initial opens the account menu: What's New, System Logs (the user activity log), Show tips again, EDUBase Support (WhatsApp) and Logout (asks you to confirm).

The bottom bar

The four places are the same — Home · Approvals · Reports · Connect (Connect is what used to be called Complaints). The megaphone button sits in the middle of the bar now and still opens the notice boards. A red number on Approvals or Connect is the count waiting for you. The bar is on every screen, including the old detail screens, so you can jump to another tab without pressing back first.

Home

Home is five cards, top to bottom: Profit & Loss (this month, with today's income and expense and a month picker), EDUBase Subscription, Today's Attendance (students and staff), Approvals waiting and Connect — then your Pinned Reports. Pull the screen down to refresh.

AI brief (if switched on for your school). Some schools see a short card under the header that reads like a briefing — what needs attention today, in plain sentences. It is written from your school's numbers once a night; the refresh icon asks for a fresh one, which is allowed once every 5 hours. Home gets the full brief; every other screen gets two or three lines about that screen. If you do not see it, it is not switched on for your school — that is a setting EDUBase controls, not something in the app.

Approvals

Approvals open as a hub — categories with counts (students, staff, finance), and a list per category. Each request opens its own screen with Approve and Reject buttons; a confirmation names what will happen before anything is sent. Approve All does the same for a whole list, behind its own confirmation.

Reports

Reports are grouped into five categories — Financial · Students · Staff · Parents · Tools — and every report you had is still there (18 of them). On each report you can tap the house icon to pin it to Home and the star to keep it at the top of its category. A report opens with a period selector (Today / This Month / Previous Month) and, where it applies, a button to open the full old report screen — that screen is unchanged, it just sits inside the new header and bottom bar now.

Connect

Connect (the old Complaints tab) groups Complaints & Suggestions, PTM, Chat and Parents App usage. Complaints can be resolved, reopened or replied to from the app; the reply reaches the parent.

Dropdowns

Every dropdown in the app now opens as a list you pick from (with a search box when the list is long) instead of a small spinner. The options are the same.

Tips

On your first few visits the app shows one short tip at a time — pull down to refresh, switch campus, the bell, pin a report. Tap Got it or do the thing and it goes away; it will not come back. To see them again, open the account menu and switch on Show tips again.

What 5.1 and 5.2 added (August 2026)

  • All Campuses. The campus bar's picker starts with All Campuses when your school has more than one; every screen then shows the whole school. You only see the campuses you are allowed to see, and only active ones. A screen that can only show one campus at a time (exam reports, the attendance filter sheet, the staff notice form) shows its own campus row while All is selected.
  • Premium account — the small crown pill in the header and on the subscription card. It is on every account.
  • Today's Attendance on Home: tap Students or Employees to open that attendance report.
  • App Analytics & Adoption replaced the old Parents-app card on Home; it opens the same detail as on Connect: four tabs — Not installed, Installed, not active, Active, No valid number — and a WhatsApp / SMS button per family that sends a sign-in link for the Parents app (you confirm first; nothing is sent without you). A family filed with 00000000000 or a wrong number sits under No valid number — correct the number on the web and the buttons light up.
  • Logged-in sessions (account menu): every place this account is signed in, web and app, with Sign out per session.
  • New reports: Student Strength Summary (class- and section-wise), Student Admission Capacity, Fee Summary (month-wise — pick any month), Student 360 (search a child → the 360 profile), and a Front Desk category: Visitor Dashboard, Visitor Meetings, Visitor Reports, Student Leave / Exit Pass.
  • Staff register shows how each attendance was marked (QR / Bio / Manual / Face) and who was not marked that day.
  • Finance approvals: if two-step payment approval is switched on for your user, Approvals → Finance lists the challan payments and fee discounts waiting; if it is off, nothing is shown.
  • Subscription shows invoices from January 2026 onward.
  • Fixed: the chat reply box no longer hides under the keyboard; Staff Individual Attendance loads; the Student Absentees filter folds away once you fetch a record so the list has room; every report follows the campus in the header.

If a screen looks empty

An empty list says so in words. If you expected data, check the campus in the header and the period at the top of that screen first — and pull down to refresh.
