Where the Add Student button is (button kahan hai)
The green Add Student button sits at the top right of the Manage Students list, last in the row after Send SMS, Bulk Edit, Batch Transfer / Promote and Blank Form. Grey, with You are not allowed, please check your privileges on hover, means your login lacks the create right on Manage Students — ask your administrator (Users & Privileges).
Steps
- Go to Admissions › Manage Students → click Add Student
- Fill Student Personal Information — name, gender, date of birth, CNIC/B-Form, photo
- In Family Information choose Family: Existing to pick a family already in the school (father, mother and address fill in by themselves), or Add New Family to get a fresh family number
- In Office Information choose Campus, Class, Section, Group/Discipline, Session and Fee Plan
- Click Save and Go Back, Save and Add New (clears the form for the next child) or Save and View (opens the printed admission form)
Which fields are required (zaroori)
The Save buttons stay grey until these fields are filled: Student Name, Gender, Admission Date, Father Name, Father CNIC, Guardian Relation, Father/Guardian Mobile, Campus, Class, Section, Group/Discipline, Fee Plan and Current Status. Current Status is pre-set to Currently Enrolled. Session is not checked by the buttons but the save is refused without it, so choose it too.
Student CNIC/B-Form must be unique — a number already on another record is refused with "B-Form number has already been taken."
Numbers that fill themselves
- Roll No is pre-filled with the next student ID. If your school has a series for that class on Core › Roll Number Series, the box is left empty and shows Auto: with the number the child will get; a number you type always wins.
- Admission No is pre-filled with the last admission number plus one; you can overtype it.
- Family No appears when you choose Add New Family, or you can type an existing number and press Enter to load that family.
Fee plan
The Fee Plan chosen here is the plan list the child belongs to. It does not create the child's fee amounts — do that afterwards on Admissions › Create Fee Plans; until then no challan can be made for them.
Good to know
- Photo: jpg or png. Attachments: up to 10 files (pdf, doc, docx, txt, jpg, jpeg, png), each with a title. Visitors Info rows are optional, but a row with a phone or address and no name is refused.
- If the class is full (seat limit on Core › Admission Capacity with the hold switched on) the child is still saved and shown as waiting for approval under Admissions › Admission Approvals; the message on screen says so.
- Tick Send SMS in the bottom panel to send the new-admission SMS to the father, mother or student contact when you save.
- The same form opens as Add Student on Extras › All Students and Extras › Students By User, and as Add Query on Admissions › Admission Queries, where the status is pre-set to Admission Query instead.
- Entry of many students from a paper list: Extras › Add Bulk Students — set Campus, Class, Section, Session and Fee Plan once, then one row per child (Name, Gender, Roll No., Admission Date, Father Name, Father Contact), saved together.
- To correct a record later, use Update on the student's row — see the Update Student article.
