How do I add a city, and why must the city exist before I can create a campus?

Last updated

Go to Core › City, type the city name, press Create.

The city list feeds the Campus form, and nothing else. You cannot create a campus until the city it sits in exists, which is why adding a city is normally the first thing anyone does on a brand-new school — before campuses, before classes, before a single student.

Campus banane ke liye city pehle add karni hoti hai. If the city dropdown on the campus form is empty, it is because no city has been added on this screen yet — add the city here first, then go back and make the campus.

City is a plain list of names. It has no address, no code and no settings of its own — one box and a Create button.

Steps

  1. Go to Core › City
  2. Type the city name
  3. Press Create
  4. Go to Core › Campus — the city is now selectable

Why a city will not delete

If a campus is in that city, the system refuses. Move the campus to another city first, or leave the row alone — an unused city in the list does no harm.

Common confusion

"Do I need every city we take students from?" No. This list is for the cities your campuses are in, not your students' home towns.
