Award list banate waqt kuch bache list mein nahi aate. You build a class's result list and children who study in that class are simply not on it, so their result cannot be entered at all. Work down this list — the first two causes account for most cases.
1. The session on the student does not match the one you are working in
The commonest cause. When a session is changed or rolled over, students carry the session they were given, and an award list built under a different session simply will not see them. Check which session the award list is being created in, and which session those students actually carry.
If a rollover left them behind, correct the students' session and create the list again.
2. The subject is not attached to their class
The award list is per subject. A student in a class the subject is not attached to will never appear on that subject's list, however correct everything else is. Attach the subject to the class in the exam settings, then rebuild the list.
2a. Subject Wise filtering and the student's own subjects
When Student Filtering on the award list is set to Subject Wise, only students who have that subject linked on their admission form appear — a child taking English but not Chemistry belongs on the English list only, and that is now enforced. If a child is missing from a subject's list, open their admission/edit form and confirm the subject is ticked under Student Subjects — the same field explains a child who appears on a list they should not be on. For a whole class at once use Exam & Att › Subject Allocation: every child of the class with their subjects as tick-boxes on one grid, corrected in one pass instead of one admission form at a time. It needs the Subject Allocation permission, under Exam in Users & Privileges. Students with no subjects linked at all appear only in Class Wise lists.
2b. On a COMBINED Subject Wise list, a missing subject does not hide the student
A combined list covers several subjects at once. There, a student appears if they take any of them — so a child who takes English but not Poem is on the list because of English, and is not missing at all.
The subjects that child does not take are locked on the marks sheet (the cell reads Not assigned) and are left out of that child's total — they are not scored zero. So the child being on the list is correct, and the greyed-out columns are correct too. Fix what a student takes in Exam & Att › Subject Allocation; see exams-015 for the locking itself.
3. They are in a different section from the one selected
Award lists are built per class and section. A child moved between sections appears under their new section — the old section's list will be short by exactly that number.
4. They are marked inactive
Inactive students are excluded from award lists, as they are from attendance and fee screens. If a child who is still studying has been marked inactive, that is the fix.
5. The campus filter
At a multi-campus school, check the campus selected at the top matches where those children study.
Steps
- Open Exam & Att › Examination › Add Marks and SMS or the award list screen
- Confirm the campus, class, section and subject, and that the subject is attached to that class
- Check the session the students carry against the one the list is being made in
- Rebuild the list
Common confusion
"It worked last term." Something moved since: a session rollover, a promotion, or a section change. All three change which students a result list can see.
"Some students appear, others do not." That points at the students, not the setup — usually a section change or an inactive mark on those particular children.
