Exam › Settings › Result Card Layouts is a store for Word (.docx) result-card layouts, with an Add screen for uploading one. It is not in the Exam settings menu; you reach it by its address only.
What the screen does
- Add Layout opens Exam › Settings › Result Card Layouts › Add: give a Layout title and choose a .docx file — any other file type is refused ("Only .docx File Are Allowed").
- Below the form is the Input Tags list (
[studentName],[rollNo],[className],[stdPhoto],[boardRollNo],[qrCode]…). Click a tag to copy it and paste it into the Word file before uploading. - On Create the file is stored and converted; if the conversion fails you get "Failed To Save Document" and no layout is added to the list.
- The list shows title, a download link to the file, who uploaded it and when. Edit changes only the title — the file itself cannot be replaced; delete the row and upload again. Delete asks "Are you sure?" and cannot be undone.
🔴 What it does NOT do
Nothing prints a result card from these uploads today. Result cards come from Exam & Att › Examination › Examination Reports (Result Card, Combined Subject Result Card), and their look is controlled by Exam › Manage Brandings with the Result Card layout — a Header, Body and Footer you write yourself, with the school logo, colours and student tags such as [studentName] and [rollNo]. When your branding already prints the student's details, the card does not repeat them.
So, for "can the result card design be changed":
- Header, footer, signature lines, logo, colours, wording — yes, self-serve, in Manage Brandings.
- The marks table itself (columns, font sizes, where the subject rows sit) is a fixed print; a change there is a request to support, not a setting.
Uploading a Word file here does not change what parents receive.
