Exam › Test Type Weightage decides how much of the year's final result each test type (made on Exam › Test Type) is worth, per campus. You give every term a percent share of the final: First Term 20 percent, Mid Term 30, Final Term 50. One campus's shares must add up to exactly 100 percent, or stay all zero. Its main use is the Term Wise Report under Examination Reports, which prints a weighted Final Report from it. Once weightage is set, class and section positions on some other examination reports (for example the Month Wise Report) are also ranked on weighted totals.
Steps
- Open Exam › Test Type Weightage. All campuses are pre-selected; one card is shown per campus with a row per test type.
- Type a whole number from 0 to 100 in Weightage (%) against each test type — that is the percent of the final result that term carries. A test type that should not count in the final gets 0.
- Watch the Total in the card header — it must be exactly 100 (or all zeros).
- Press Save All (or Update in the footer). Each campus is saved on its own.
How the report uses it
- On the Term Wise Report, when the test types you selected add up to 100, every term's marks are scaled by its share (a term worth 30 contributes 30% of its marks) and a Final Report with the weighted total, percentage, grade and remarks is printed. Class and section positions are ranked on those same weighted totals.
- Test types with 0 weight are left out of the weighted final.
- The report's Show Final Aggregate option is ticked by default; unticking it prints the traditional plain totals for that run without changing anything saved here.
- If your selected terms do not add up to 100 (say you ran the report for two of three terms), the report falls back to plain totals — no scaling.
Common confusion
- "Total weightage must be exactly 100%" — the card's numbers add to something else. Fix them; the save is refused both on screen and on the server ("Sum of weightage must add upto 100").
- All zeros is allowed and means "no weightage" — every term counts as its plain marks, the traditional report every school had before.
- Weightage is per campus. A second campus needs its own numbers; its card is separate.
- A school with more than one campus sees every test type of the whole school in each card (the Campus column repeats the card's campus), so the same name can appear twice. Fill the rows carefully; if Save fails with a server error for a campus, the card contains a test type that belongs to another campus and cannot be saved from here — report it to support.
