How do I take a payment from a whole family in one go and give one receipt?

Last updated

Admissions › Familywise Payment collects against every child in one family together and prints one receipt showing the family number, each child, and the total.

It is the screen for the parent standing at the counter paying for three children at once — do ya teen bachon ki fee ek sath receive karni ho to yehi screen hai, kyunke har bachay ka challan alag alag dhoondna waqt zaya karta hai.

Steps

  1. Go to Admissions › Familywise Payment
  2. Find the family — by family number or by any one of the children
  3. Every unpaid challan across those siblings is listed
  4. Receive the payment for all of them together and print the family receipt

Thermal receipt

The family thermal receipt prints all text in bold. Its short column headings are Family Detail, Pble (payable), Paid and Bal (balance). The totals sit under the matching amount columns so you can check the family payment at the counter.

Siblings must share a family number

The screen groups by family number, so bhai behen have to be on the same one. Children who were never linked into one family appear as separate families, and you end up taking their fees one by one. Link them on the student records first.

Printing one combined challan for the family

To give the family one printed challan for all its children before they pay, use Admissions › Pay or Print Fee Challans → Print Family Challans: tick the children's challans and every child with the same Family No is printed on one family challan. This screen (Familywise Payment) is for receiving the family's money and giving one receipt.

Common confusion

"Only one child appears." The siblings do not share a family number.

"The parent paid several months for several children." That works, and the combined receipt option groups the months per student — you still get one receipt per student inside the family sheet, not one line for everything.

Thermal paper and reprints

Use matching 80 mm thermal paper and review the printer scaling and margins. Family-wise Payment, Pay All Thermal Receipt and Paid Challan thermal receipts use consistent narrow spacing and the locally bundled Roboto Mono font, with left and right margins. Reprinting an existing receipt does not create another payment. Open the receipt from the payment workflow or the existing Paid Challan record, then use Print.
