Admissions › Admission Queries holds people who have asked about admission but have not joined. The usual question is jo abhi admit nahi hue, un ko kahan enter karein? — here, not on Manage Students. They are kept apart from your real roll so that enquiries never inflate your student strength, your fee figures or your reports.
What you can do there
The same actions as the other student lists — Add Query (the admission form with the status pre-set to Admission Query), Update, Bulk Edit, Batch Transfer, Blank Form (the Admission Query Blank layout) and Change Log — but over enquiries rather than enrolled students. The list shows records whose status is Admission Query.
Why they are kept separate
Counting an enquiry as a student would quietly overstate the school. Strength counts and the daily snapshot deliberately exclude admission enquiries, and Manage Students lists only Currently Enrolled children, so an enquiry that is never followed up costs you nothing in your numbers.
Steps
- Go to Admissions › Admission Queries
- Click Add Query and enter the enquiry — it is the admission form with Current Status pre-set to Admission Query, and the same required fields as a real admission apply (name, father, campus, class, section, group, fee plan)
- When the family joins, open the row's cog menu → Update and set Current Status to Currently Enrolled (or tick several rows and use Bulk Edit → Select Status) — the record then appears in Manage Students
- Enquiries that come to nothing can simply be left
Common confusion
"An enquiry is not in Manage Students." That is correct — Manage Students shows only Currently Enrolled children, and this is exactly what keeps your strength honest. Extras › All Students shows every status, so enquiries do appear there with their status.
"Our student count looks low." Check whether children were entered as enquiries and never converted. Anyone still sitting in Admission Queries is not counted in your strength.
