Admin → QR Biometric Attendance controls which devices may mark attendance for your school, and how attendance SMS/WhatsApp behave for students and staff.
The two boxes
- QR Device ID — the IDs of the phones running the EDUBase QR Attendance app (and any fingerprint readers). A QR punch from a device not listed here is refused.
- Biometric Device ID or SN ID — the serial/ID of each biometric reader registered to your school. This is the same registry the Live status card reads.
Biometric readers do NOT need bio-11111 any more
Older setups were told to type bio-11111 into the QR Device ID box so biometric punches would be accepted. That is no longer needed. A reader that is registered to your school (by EDUBase support, in the device registry) records attendance on its own — you can leave the QR Device ID box to your QR-app phones only.
Live Biometric Device Status
The card beside the device boxes shows every reader registered to your school with its live connection state and last-seen time. Live means the reader recently reported; Disconnected/Unknown means it has gone quiet — check its power and network, then its placement.

Out Time — an early clock-out becomes a Short Leave
The Staff card now carries an Out Time rule. Switch on Mark Short Leave on Early Out and set how many minutes early a member of staff may still leave; clocking out earlier than that records the day as Short Leave instead of Present. It applies to QR, biometric, face and the teacher app's location attendance alike.

Student auto-absent and the early parent-call list
Ticking Auto-Absent Classes plus Mark Absent After is what writes Absent for children who have not scanned in. The job checks about every 15 minutes from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM; it is not the 10:00 AM-only run it used to be. Until it has written the row, Take Attendance still shows those children as Present — that screen defaults unmarked rows to Present. The list to call parents from is Exam & Attendance › Absentees.
